DAYS OF MATCHING AN OUTFIT TO THE EXACT ARE OVER
“Oh I can’t wear this outfit until I find the shoe to match the top,” or “I still need a belt to go with it and then the look will be complete.” We’ve all done this at some point or another in our fashion journey – delayed wearing a look as we search to find that perfect missing component or more specifically colors that match to the exact. Well those days are over!!!
The thought of “coordinating” an entire look to match to the exact is no longer a thing. I find it cheezy even.
And this does not just apply to a specific color family, be it neutrals, color blocking, or a monochromatic look. No longer should your outfits be stifled in hopes of perfectly matching a look.
Now I’ll always maintain that we’re never doing clown because there is a difference between throwing any and everything together for a look that just doesn't work vs. pulling a blended look together where the colors may not necessarily work to the exact.
If you find yourself still stuck in the space of exact matching, I challenge you to try to think outside of the box a little. You’d be surprised by how many more outfits you’ll be able to pull together and how much creativity you didn’t even know you had when it comes to styling pieces in your wardrobe.
